Mollie Key is a senior consultant I for the California Behavioral Health Bridge Housing program at Advocates for Human Potential (AHP). Originally from Wisconsin, she now calls San Diego, California her home. With experience as a homeless service provider and community advocate in Wisconsin, Texas and California, Ms. Key is passionate about engaging people with lived experiences and working towards ensuring that no one experiences homelessness. She believes in the principle of “Nothing about us, without us” and has used her professional and personal experiences to help governments engage people with lived experience through advisory boards, public comment, and accessibility measures.
Her previous work experience includes case management, technical assistance and capacity building, communications, grant management, and program management at the Local, State, and Federal levels. Before joining AHP, Ms. Key worked as a housing and homelessness equity specialist for the California Department of Public Health Office of Health Equity. In this role, she developed and implemented action items for the California Action Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness, focusing specifically on actions to enhance the public health needs of people experiencing homelessness. She also played a key role in developing and implementing a peer health ambassador program for people experiencing homelessness to access COVID-19 testing and treatment. She was also involved in developing and leading an internal California Department of Public Health Working Group on all things related to housing and homelessness.
