AHP Releases Medication Assisted Treatment Training Video for Use in Prisons/Jails
AHP is pleased to announce a new national training video on prisons and jail-based medication assisted treatment (MAT) programming. The video is the first to document the establishment of innovative prison and jail MAT re-entry programs for both men and women. Please visit http://www.rsat-tta.com/ to view the 37-minute film.
Funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the film is introduced from Michael Botticelli, Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. Profiling programs from three state prison systems (Missouri, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts) and one county jail (Barnstable County, Massachusetts), the video features interviews with treatment providers, counselors, correctional staff, administrators, medical personnel and current and former inmates.
Accompanying the video, AHP has written a manual, offering a more detailed description of the programs, including model forms and protocols. The Prison/Jail Medication Assisted Treatment Manual is also available at http://www.rsat-tta.com/.
This training video builds on the success of the 2014 film documenting a model RSAT treatment program,” said Dr. Andrew Klein, RSAT Project Director. The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy has distributed a DVD copy of the AHP video to every state correctional administrator to assist them in implementation of MAT re-entry programming such as those featured in the video.
