AHP Wins SAMHSA National Evaluation Contract
Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. (AHP) is proud to announce its selection as the prime contractor for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Program Evaluation for Prevention Contract. AHP’s Center for Research and Evaluation (R&E) will lead the project, with Mathematica serving as the subcontractor.
The team will design and lead an evaluation of SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework for Prescription Drugs (SPF-Rx), a program designed to combat prescription drug misuse at the state and community levels. SPF-Rx aims to raise awareness about the dangers of sharing medications and the risks associated with counterfeit pills. It also works closely with the pharmaceutical and medical communities to mitigate overprescribing.
The evaluation will provide crucial data for SAMHSA and the Department of Health and Human Services, helping inform strategies, track progress, and improve the SPF-Rx program’s performance. Dr. Terri Tobin, Vice President of R&E, will serve as project director, and Dr. Allyson Peller, senior scientist, will serve as deputy project director.
