Transformative Technical Assistance to Fuel Real Change

Service BriefsLast updated: Dec 17, 2024

An epidemic of violence, addiction, and pandemic-related suffering has created massive challenges for understaffed and overworked behavioral health and human services organizations, called upon to meet seemingly endless need in vulnerable populations.

For 35 years, Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. (AHP) has been improving health and human services systems of care and business operations to help organizations and individuals reach their full potential. Let us help you build capacity to meet your unique needs through our highly effective technical assistance (TA) support.

Health care is constantly in flux, with increasingly complex regulatory demands. The marketplace is a network of ever-changing rules around managed care, Medicaid, data technology, and value-based reimbursement systems.

How will your workforce rise, adapt, and grow in competence and confidence? High quality, engaging TA accelerates the rate of successful change, creating pathways, processes, and systems that will elevate your organization to the next level and beyond.

Teaching and Technical Assistance

AHP’s approach to TA is streamlined into four steps: assess, design, deliver, and evaluate. At each step, we listen deeply, collaborating with our clients to bring their vision into reality.

  1. Assess. We tailor TA to your needs and expertise. We listen carefully to what is being asked of you and what you want to achieve. The assessment process builds the framework for a collaborative, strengths-based partnership.
  2. Design. We work with you to identify content and delivery methods that ensure responsiveness to needs, cultural appropriateness, competency-based training, and overall effectiveness in meeting TA goals.
  3. Deliver. We use a variety of methods to deliver TA coached learning networks, including on- and off-site support, workshops, conferences, and virtual TA.
  4. Evaluate. Constructive evaluation of TA depends on establishing clear goals and plans from the beginning. This includes specifying the intended impact of the TA with concrete, measurable objectives.

Ignite Change and Expand Competence

Whether your goals are changes in reimbursement, adoption of new clinical practices, or development of new skills across your entire team, AHP tailors TA to your organization’s specific culture and needs.

Teaming with Experts

The AHP team includes subject matter experts with successful careers in areas like mental health,
substance use disorders, housing and homelessness, integrated systems of care, and managed care.
We will assemble a team of experts across disciplines, specific to your needs.

Responding to Culture

The TA that contributes most to successful adaptation is designed and delivered to reflect your demographics, geography, and culture. AHP’s TA is infused with cultural competence and a direct understanding of your clients’ needs. Our materials are fully compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) section 508, ensuring that our teaching reaches everyone in your organization.

Why Now?

The burden on health, behavioral health, and human services organizations is compounded by pandemic-related grief, stress, and anxiety in a population already feeling the weight of economic and social inequities. With a thinning and overburdened workforce, how will
your organization adapt and overcome?

The AHP Difference

When you partner with AHP, we’ll share these extraordinary challenges, diving into your workforce and
systems with expertise and compassion. Fully immersed in helping health, behavioral health, and human service organizations for decades, AHP has the depth of understanding necessary to help your organization.
