Deputy Program Director

Michael Helmick is a senior program manager at Advocates for Human Potential (AHP), and the deputy project director of the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) program. Mr. Helmick joined AHP after significant accomplishments with the California Mental Health Services Authority and the California Primary Care Association. He is a leader in building the capacity of the mental health services throughout California. His expertise includes implementing process improvements, implementing new policies and programs, and building effective collaborations. Throughout his career, he has championed for a more equitable and culturally responsive system of care that meets the diverse needs of all Californians. Mr. Helmick has led numerous statewide, regional, and local initiatives in coordination with diverse organizations that are representative of all parts of California’s behavioral health system.
